These poems harvest together moments of flowers fields of grain and the gentle populatons of nature you will also find fast cars, dancing, folk and pop musc. Her poems have a distinct elegance and her economies of language only serve to accentuate her vision.

    Maypole

    On May Day

    passing The Green

I caught sight of a dance

    Later

    it was hard for me

    meeting my maypole in December

    with the ribbons wound up

    when I needed dancing

    I stood

to match the scroll of red and white

but it’s hard to be a maypole

    in December
